Dartmoor, a top place to photograph in Devon
Dartmoor is one of the best places to photograph in North Devon.
It's a fact that anyone who has visited the moors will know, but it's also great to see Dartmoor included in a news article by Brend Hotels, the luxury group that The Devon Hotel belongs to.
They've created a piece entitled '10 places to photograph in Devon and Cornwall', and of Dartmoor, they spoke of the:
"...woodlands, tors, quaint villages, deep valleys and rolling hills. The dramatic landscapes, exciting wildlife and stunning views make for great selfie moments and 360-degree panoramas."
Quite rightly, there are so many things and places to photograph in Dartmoor. Being close to us at the Devon Hotel, photographers of any level and skill are not far from new photos to be proud of.
Wildlife thrives on Dartmoor. Use the roaming wild ponies and sheep as subjects for instance, or focus on the rugged plants and flowers sprinkled over the moors. Be patient and consistent to capture rabbits, snakes or deer.
The landscape is dominated by tors, jagged rocks sticking out of the ground on the top of rolling hills. You'll stumble upon woods and rivers and abandoned buildings.
Photographers love the varied weather - some of the best images have come from moody skies and daunting scenic landscapes.
Whatever it is you enjoy capturing with your camera, Dartmoor has it. Don't forget to also find the small villages and towns for homes. streets and popular features rich in history.
