Permanent - Part Time (10 - 24 hours a week )

Salary: £9.50 per hour


As a Reservationist, you will be responsible for assisting the reception team in carrying out daily tasks, helping to reduce their workload as you self manage your responsibilities. You will be dealing with accommodation and restaurant bookings and enquiries whilst ensuring maximum revenue is obtained through room sales. What will I be doing?

As a Reservationist at The Devon Hotel, you will be responsible for dealing with daily client bookings and enquiries whilst working as part of a small team. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Working within office guidelines to ensure that all client bookings are accurate.

  • Managing accommodation reservations that come through by phone, email or online via a booking system.

  • Managing restaurant reservations that come through by phone, email or online via a booking system.

  • Assisting with check/check out procedures

  • Dealing with all client queries – by phone, post, online and face-to-face.

  • Maintain a good knowledge of all the Hotel’s services, current packages and room rates in order to deal with daily client queries and bookings.

  • Identify and maximise sales opportunities in all client contact.

  • Carry out reservation procedures as per the daily checklists.

  • Carry out any additional administrative duties as required including some general reception duties if needed.

  • Work closely with the Sales and Revenue Manager and alongside the Reception team.

What are we looking for?

To successfully fill this role as a Reservationist at The Devon Hotel, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:

  • Positive, friendly attitude and willingness to learn

  • A minimum of 1 year’s reservations experience in a similar role would be desirable but not essential.

  • Exceptional communication and organisation skills.

  • An ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

  • Experience in using RESLYNX would be beneficial but not essential as training will be provided.

  • Strong IT skills and working knowledge of all of the Microsoft packages (Word, Excell etc). 

Although previous experience would be beneficial, it is not essential as full training will be provided.
