South and East Devon beaches awarded 'excellent' ratings for water quality
Good news for guests staying with us who desire a day out at the beach along with a dip in the sea!
South and East Devon beaches have been awarded 'excellent' ratings for water quality - in 2018 and for the last 3 years in a row.
For example, Sidmouth Beach and Jacob's Ladder Beach (which are 30 minutes from The Devon in Sidmouth) have both individually been given the 'excellent' status, the highest classification from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA).
Meanwhile, the nearby Seaton, Beer, Budleigh Salterton, Sandy Bay and Exmouth waters have also received ‘excellent’ - a wonderful result for the region!
Water quality is tested by the Environment Agency every week from the start of May to the end of September. Results are considered alongside those from the previous three years to build a rating.
It's time for a dip at Sidmouth Beach
Knowing that the beaches at nearby Sidmouth are so well rated and clean, means that you can relax in allowing yourself or children go in the sea.
Even though we're on the edge of Exeter, we're only 30 minutes away for a day out at Sidmouth beach.
