Things to do in Exeter

1. Find adventure at Go Ape

Against the backdrop of the stunning Dartmoor, Go Ape at Haldon is the gateway to fun and adventure on the moors.

2. Visit Exeter Cathedral

3. Stroll around Exeter’s Quayside

Exeter’s historic quayside is one of the most attractive areas in the city, popular with both locals and tourists alike. 

A wonderful place for everyone, whether you're looking to have an amble to take in the sights or perhaps something a bit more active - there are facilities on the quay to hire such as bikes and canoes.

Along the quay is an eclectic mix of cafes, restaurants, pubs and bars where you can enjoy good food, people watch and soak up the lovely atmosphere. You can stroll along the high street which runs parallel to Princesshay and features all the popular store names. 7. Clip ‘n’ Climb in Exeter

Challenge yourself and challenge your friends on the ultimate vertical playground:  Clip ‘n’ Climb at the Quay. With over 26 different climbs to try, each with a range of challenges built-in, there’s something to keep everyone from little ones to experienced climbers engaged.  

Whether you’re 4 or 64, you will love the physical and mental challenges that Clip ‘n' Climb provides.  Climbing has never been simpler – simply clip into the auto-belay system and climb away. When you’ve reached the top or want to come down simply jump off:  the belay takes in the slack as you climb and lowers you gently to the ground when you are ready. Children must be aged 4 or over.

8. Escape the room at Mission Escape

Pit your wits against puzzles and quizzes to find the code to escape. 

With 60 minutes on the clock, join your friends and family for a live adventure at Mission Escape. There are three rooms to choose from , all including immersive, narrative-driven stories in which you have to find the clues and solve the puzzles to escape within an hour. With varying levels of difficulty available, your mind will definitely be challenged at Mission Escape.

9. Have a tour of Exeter Underground Passages

Exeter's Underground Passages were built to house the pipes that brought clean drinking water into medieval Exeter. A guided tour of Exeter's Underground Passages is a memorable event - narrow, dark, interesting and exciting! These are the only passages of this kind open to the public in Britain!

Why not visit the heritage centre before your guided tour, packed with interactive exhibits and interpretation?

These tours are likely to fill up quickly so pre-booking is advisable.

10. Go walking on Dartmoor National Park

Exe Wake is a Devon based watersports school specialising in wakeboarding, waterskiing and inflatable rides. 

Located on the River Exe Estuary near Exmouth, Exe Wake offers groups and individuals of all ages and abilities the chance to get out on the water and try, practice or perfect a number of different water sports.
